Une série de 50 stèles
rassemblées par un ambassadeur
Chinois au début du XX ème
siècle a été
dispersée après sa mort
entre diverses institutions du pays.
Elle est en cours de redécouverte.
Une stèle particulièrement
intéressante montre un représentation
de Cléopatre en roi. C'est
seulement le second examplaire connu
d'une telle représentation.
In Beijing, an international joint
research group from the Catholic University
in Leuven and Beijing University discovered
a collection of Egypt art that was
believed lost for many years. It had
been bought in 1906 by Duan Fang,
a Chinese ambassador in Cairo, but
which had become scattered after his
death. A special find is a stela which
depicts Cleopatra as a male pharaoh.
This is the second known example of
such a depiction.
